Süsswassertang, Lomariopsis lineata, is somewhat of an oddity. Contrary to its common name, which is a German phrase that translates to freshwater seaweed, this is a species of fern native to Southeast Asia.

In an aquarium, it grows most similarly to aquatic mosses. It can attach to a surface or grow in loose clumps.

Süsswassertang does not require much light, but if well lit it will form much tighter ruffles and grow more compactly. It does not require CO2 injection to grow.

The bunch pictured is an example of how many plants we typically ship, but please allow for slight variations.

Plants are shipped 2-day and guaranteed to arrive alive with the exception of shipment delays. All claims must be reported within 24 hours of receiving and accompanied by a photo. In extreme weather, we may delay shipment.

I received a generous portion of Susswassertang. The deep emerald green color and lacy form of the leaves looks great in the foreground of my planted tank, and it provides great cover for fry.
