Pike cichlids are a great example of true predatory fish that can be kept in home aquariums. They range in size from 2-20″ approximately, and are widely distributed across the Amazon River basin. They enjoy warm water, lurking in the shadows, and devouring anything that might fit in their mouths. They make wonderful aquarium pets in thoughtfully planned tanks! In this episode, we discuss the new taxonomic shakeup in the world of pike cichlids, as well as species profiles, and how to keep them!

You guys make amazing content and every episode is fascinating and informative. I’ve been in the freshwater side of the hobby for a really long time from giant cichlid tanks to breeding Apistos and trying to do some pretty cool aquascapes and I’m always learning from you guys. Recently I’ve been exploring the marine side of this hobby and even though I’ve been tuning into y’alls beginner saltwater and coral talks I still have a good amount of questions about corals. I was wondering if you guys could go in depth about compatibility of corals and encrusting corals. I know that they all compete to be the biggest and healthiest but it’s very confusing on how to navigate and gather information on how to make right decisions on mixed corals tank or other corals tanks. It would be great if y’all could help me and please keep making amazing content!
