Neolamprologus multifasciatus is the most common shell dweller due to their prolific nature. When provided with cover, particularly shells to breed in, they reproduce readily in aquariums. They are notoriously fun to watch create and defend their territories but will not tolerate any other fish in their space. Expect larger males to get up to 2 inches, with females and smaller males maxing out around 1.5.
